Frequently Asked Questions
What if my dog is reactive?
If your dog exhibits reactive behaviour, such as barking, lunging, or displaying aggression towards other dogs or people, rest assured that you're not alone, you are absolutely welcome and supported. Understanding and addressing reactive behaviour requires patience, consistency, and specialised training techniques. At Peak Canine we have experience working with reactive dogs and are committed to providing tailored solutions to help you and your dog overcome these challenges. We will conduct a thorough assessment to identify the underlying triggers and develop a personalised training plan to change the way your dog feels about these stimuli and therefore, shape alternative, more positive behaviours. With our guidance and support, you'll learn effective management strategies and techniques to help your reactive dog become more confident, calm, and well-adjusted in various situations.
How is payment made?
For Private Training Programs, invoices are issued and paid prior to your first session. There are payment options to pay via bank transfer, debit card or afterpay.
For Training Walks, after a Trial walk you will be given access to your client portal to begin your membership. This is charged every Sunday to pay for the week ahead. In your client portal you will be able to see your profile, transactions and manage your subscription from your phone. This is designed to remove the hassle of weekly reminders and invoicing. Instead all you have to do is pop in your email and payment details and you can have peace of mind knowing you are in control of your membership.
Will i be updated on my pet?
Keeping you informed and involved in their progress is a top priority for us. Throughout your pet's training journey with us, we provide detailed videos to keep you in the loop every step of the way. If you are completing the pet sitting service we provide you with photo and video updates, letting you see and know how your pet is doing. We also make sure to identify and communicate any health notes to you. Your trust and satisfaction are paramount to us, and we're committed to providing transparent and open communication throughout the training process.
How many sessions are typically needed?
The number of sessions needed for effective dog training can vary depending on factors such as your dog's temperament, behaviour, and your training goals. This is why we recommend a minimum membership duration of 8 weeks to allow for comprehensive training and consistent progress. While some dogs may show improvement earlier in the training process, our commitment to your pet's development necessitates this minimum duration to ensure a thorough and effective training experience. If you wish to continue and enjoy your dog being walked by a professional you may hold membership for as long as you would like.
Do you offer any guarantees or follow-up support after the training sessions are completed?
Yes, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive support and assistance beyond the completion of the training sessions. Our commitment to your pet's success extends well beyond the training period. Additionally, we provide follow-up support to ensure that you and your pet continue to thrive long after the training sessions conclude. We believe in staying connected with our clients to address any questions or concerns that may arise and to provide ongoing guidance as needed.
